Making iso cd image file using Alcohol 120%

I'll make iso file out of PlayStation game WarHammer: Dark Omen.
Why?
Because it's only one that i have here with me.
Let's start.

1. Fire up Alcohol
2. Click on "Image Making Wizard"

3. Select apropriate CD drive where your game is
4. Set "Datatype" to Playstation

Note: You could deselect "Read Sub-Channel Data from current disc", then "Datatype" changes to

"Customize" and you could make image into 2 more formats (.iso & .cue), but you'll use

Sub-Channel data and some games then won't work.

5. Click "Next"
6. Now set location where you want your image to be created
(Default is My Documents/Alcohol 120%)
7. Set your Image name
8. Set "Image Format" to "CloneCD Image file (*.ccd)"
9. Click "Start"

Wait untill your image is ready.

If you want to play on ePSXe with this image file, just selest "Run Iso" and select .img file.
If you want to burn it, then folow my tutorial, just instead of .cue file, select .ccd file.

This tutorial will cover some basics on config.

2. Click "Tools">"Options"
3. Fill in your "Nickname" & "Aternative"
NOTE: You don't need to type in your your full name & e-mail, just fill it in with your nick.

4. Next click on "DCC"
5. Set "Auto-Get file" and minimize
6. Set "If file exists" to "Resume"
7. "On Chat Request" set "Auto-accept"

8. Click on "DCC">"Folders" and set where you want downloaded files to be saved on your PC

9. Now to set "DCC">"Ignore" to "Disabled"

Geting isos on IRC part 3

OK, now you're on channel and you want to download some isos.

1.Type !list to get list of fserve's that are serving in channel.
NOTE: Fserve (fileserver) is the place where you gonna get isos (It's on users local hard drives). But every fserver have limitations.I.e. only few sends (often it's only 1), that is result of users connection speed, faster the speed = more sends.
2.You could use @find <gamename>, (i.e. @find tekken) to find your game faster.
NOTE: @find isn't alowed on every channel. Watch out, don't get banned.
3.When you type !list, you'll probably get something like this:
<_marc`bot> (Fserve) Trigger:(!amuseyourlinuxbox or !amuseyourconsole) Served:(147.69 Gb in 637 files) Cur CPS:(10.02 Kb/s) Min CPS:(1 Kb/s) Max CPS:(65 Kb/s) Rec CPS:(68.94 Kb/s by bigdemon) Users:(0/5) Sends:(1/2 [248.27 Mb]) Queues:(1/10 [346.86 Mb]) «TCLFileServer»

4.Now, what you need to do to get on fserve is to type in trigger (just select it with you left mouse button, it will be automaticaly copyed, and paste it.)
5.DCC(Direct Connection Chat) chat window is opened, this is where you browse fserve.
6.I'll explain some important things about fserve.
Users:(0/5) - How many users are curently browsing fserve (curently/max.)
Sends:(1/2) - how many files are curently sending. NOTE: If there's empty slots(like in this example), you'll get your file right now.
Queues:(1/10) - How many files are waiting to be sent.
7.Now, to explain basic commands for browsing fserve and geting files (FINALY):
NOTE: These commands are used in DCC chat window ONLY.
dir - shows content of curent folder
cd <folder name> - changes folder (i.e. cd psx)
cd.. - Folder up (parent folder)
sends - shows all files curently sending, with percent comleted, file size, estimated time of finnishing
queues - shows all files queued, with size and nick who queued them
who - shows people curently browsing fserve
clr_queues - removes all files that you have queued from queue slots
get <file name> - sends you a file, if there's a free send slots, if not then puts you in last queue slot (i.e. get tekken3.rar)
quit - quits DCC chat with fserve
NOTE: all command in DCC are without command prefix /
Most of fserver's have limited idle time (30 sec or more)
You must stay in channel (while you're downloading or waiting) or else you'll lose your queue files.

Well, that's all you need to know to start geting isos on IRC. It look hard at first, but all pays off.

Downloading files over torrent network

I've used Shareaza for this one.
Why Shareaza?
It's simple why: No spyware, no adware and no annoying pop-ups.
You got that?
Ok, let's get to work.

1. First get Shareaza (link is in first post in this topic), install it and set few options on
settings wizard (your nick, connection type).
2. Click on Tools>Download File/Torrent...
3. Click on "Open Torrent" button and browse to your .torrent file

4. You'll get window like next picture. Check "Open a download monitor window" and click
Download Now.

5.Downloading in progress.

NOTE: If your download doesn't start in next few minutes, take a look at the number of sources.
6. Download is finished.

NOTE: If you checked "Close this window when the download completes", you won't see this window.

FINAL NOTE: Make sure you scan files downloaded over the torrent network with Anti-Virus software.
