Mario, the best known video gaming icon ever. Mario made his debut in 1981 is \"Donkey Kong\", back then he was known as Jump man, and his looks were only used to separate colors. Jumpman was officially changed to Mario, named after Mario Segali Mario a land lord of Nintendo America. Mario gradually developed a biography and identity, becoming a plumber who, with his brother, save princesses in need. Mario loves the lady, he\'s not only made a habit of saving one princess.. but 3. Mario is generally a heroic and kind hearted guy, who just likes to help out people in need. Mario\'s impact on the gaming industry is the biggest any single character has had ever. Mario created the modern platformer. Super Mario 1, made in 1985, is considered to have the biggest impact of the gaming industry. Super Mario Brothers was and is still the best selling game of all time, even beating out such giants as Ocarina of Time and Halo. With Mario success came others who would copy Mario\'s style including: Pacman, Sonic, Klonoa, Crash bandicoot and basically any platformer series. Mario mastered the 2d platformer early on with Mario 1, Mario 3 and Super Mario World. But competitors like Sonic The Hedgehog gave Mario a run for his money with fast paced games and new innovations. In the early 90s Mario struggled to stick out in a world filled with newer platformers. As consoles gradually changed to 3d Nintendo once again looked to their Italian mascot to set the way. Super Mario 64 in 1996, and even though it wasn’t the first 3d platformer it revolutionized and defined the genre of 3d platformers. Mario 64 is still considered one, if not the best, game of all time. Mario is platforming, he\'s is the soul of the genre. Any platformer game you\'ll play was influenced by Mario. Mario has even influenced other genres including: fighting, racing, party, RPG and sports. Mario by now has over 106 games to his belt, most of which are great and sell great. Mario is the king Midus of gaming, and video games would never be the same without him. P.S: Paper Mario > Regular Mario
